PLC technology represents a real chance for the electric power companies to strengthen their position, playing a key role in the development of the vast list of services likely to be provided throughout the powerlines.
Without any doubt, PLC can constitute an alternative to the existing telecommunications infrastructure, contributing to significantly increase the competition of PLC in Broadband Internet Access and consolidating by this way the development of the Information Society in Europe.
Moreover, PLC technology constitutes an efficient alternative to traditional methods of measurement, providing internal solutions for the utilities by the use of the technology for core applications.
